AUSTRALIAN HENLEY REGATTA
Yarra River – Henley Course Melbourne
Saturday 21st February 2026
The Course, The Tactics, The Challenge
The Australian Henley Regatta is a prominent eminence on the Australian rowing landscape. With a rich rowing history, the regatta is conducted over one mile on the Yarra River, Melbourne.
Rowers compete for Challenge Cups, some of which are among the oldest and most valuable perpetual trophies, dating back to 1860, for rowing in Australia.
ROWING at the Australian Henley is a two-lane knock-out format through three bridges and around two bends.
RACING at the Australian Henley requires skill, speed and match racing tactics to conquer the "Henley Mile".
WINNING at the Australian Henley is priceless.
If you think the Yarra looks good now, come down to see when it's at its best at the Australian Henley on February 21st!
A message from the Chair of the Australian Henley Regatta 2026
2026 introduces a new chapter in the long history of the Australian Henley Regatta. After many years at the helm, Chair David Yates signalled his intention to stand down early in 2025, and Leeanne Ambrose has graciously agreed to take on the role. The committee thanks David for his informed, considered and knowledgeable leadership and acknowledges the significant contribution he has made to the regatta and to Australian rowing in general.
From Leeanne Ambrose
I am delighted to assume the role of Chair of the Australian Henley Regatta.
Once again, we will convene on the banks of the Yarra River on Saturday 21 February 2026 to compete, to spectate and to enjoy the magnificent sport of rowing.
As per tradition, the Henley Marquee will be the venue where Henley subscribers can gather in comfort to enjoy a delicious meal and convivial drink, and to watch crews compete on Melbourne’s most iconic river. Bookings for luncheon are open to all and pre-booking is essential.
Racing for the coveted ‘Henley pots’ will be fast and furious and we look forward to an excellent day of competition.
